    Career Placement Call Volunteer

Help Job Seekers Take Their Next Step

Goodwill of North Georgia – Woodstock Career Center

    Location: Woodstock, Georgia

Volunteer Type: Career Services / Administrative / Client Support

    Make Your Time Matter

Goodwill of North Georgia’s mission is simple: “We put people to work.”

The Woodstock Career Center is seeking dependable, people-focused volunteers to help us stay connected with job seekers after they begin their employment journey.

As a Career Placement Call Volunteer, you will make follow-up telephone calls to Career Center participants to learn how their job search is progressing, document employment outcomes, and reconnect individuals who are still searching with resources that may help them move forward.

This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys talking with people, listening, encouraging others, and helping individuals take their next step toward employment.

    What You’ll Do

    • Make outbound follow-up calls to Career Center job seekers.
    • Ask participants about the progress of their employment search.
    • Document calls and employment-search information in a call log.
    • Record when a participant reports obtaining employment.
    • Reconnect job seekers who are still searching with Career Center resources, including job fairs, hiring events, job-readiness workshops, and other available services.
    • Identify recurring questions, barriers, or trends and share them with Career Center staff.
    • Provide a professional and welcoming experience that reflects Goodwill’s mission.

    We’re Looking for Someone Who

    • Enjoys speaking with and helping people from a variety of backgrounds.
    • Has a friendly, professional telephone presence.
    • Is a strong listener and communicates clearly.
    • Can accurately document information.
    • Can follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Is dependable and respectful of participant confidentiality.
    • Is comfortable making outbound telephone calls.
    • Has basic computer and data-entry skills.

Previous customer service, call-center, administrative, recruiting, workforce-development, or human-services experience is helpful, but not required.

    Training & Support

Orientation and role-specific training will be provided by Woodstock Career Center staff. Additional guidance and support will be available as needed.

    Volunteer Shifts

Volunteers are asked to commit to a regular shift:

    • Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
    • Monday–Friday: 1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.
    • Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Weekday shifts are 4 hours. Saturday shifts are 3 hours.

    Why Volunteer With Us?

Your phone call may do more than update a record. It can reconnect someone who has stalled in their job search with an opportunity, resource, hiring event, or person who can help them move forward.

Real conversations. Real people. Real progress.
