Yadestiny Treasure Chest is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding educational, mentorship, and professional opportunities for young people. Through mentorship initiatives, student-access programming, community events, and partnerships, YTC works to connect students with the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to grow personally, academically, and professionally.

As YTC continues to expand, we are looking for a Community Engagement Director to help strengthen our relationships with students, families, community organizations, volunteers, and partners.

About the Role

The Community Engagement Director will lead YTC’s efforts to build meaningful relationships within the communities we serve and increase awareness and participation in our programs.

This person will help ensure that YTC’s programming remains connected to community needs while also identifying new opportunities for collaboration, outreach, volunteer engagement, and partnership-building.

Responsibilities

The Community Engagement Director will:

• Develop and lead YTC’s community outreach and engagement strategy.
• Build relationships with schools, nonprofits, student organizations, community groups, and other local partners.
• Identify opportunities for YTC to participate in community events, fairs, workshops, and service initiatives.
• Recruit and engage volunteers, mentors, students, and community members in YTC programming.
• Maintain relationships with current community partners and identify opportunities to deepen collaboration.
• Help coordinate community-facing events, workshops, mentorship initiatives, and outreach campaigns.
• Gather feedback from students, families, volunteers, and partners to help inform future programming.
• Work closely with YTC leadership on partnerships, fundraising initiatives, events, and program expansion.
• Represent YTC professionally at community meetings, events, and networking opportunities.
• Help develop outreach materials, messaging, and engagement strategies alongside the communications team.
• Track outreach efforts, partnerships, and community engagement opportunities.

• Excited about helping a growing nonprofit develop new programs and community relationships.
• Collaborative and comfortable working as part of a small, mission-driven team.

Previous experience in nonprofit work, community organizing, education, outreach, communications, student leadership, or volunteer coordination is helpful but not required.
