    Description

    Description Responsibilities

Project AnimalAid (“PAA”) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Board Member with a strong background in fundraising to support the organization’s continued growth and impact. The Board provides mission-driven leadership and strategic governance, while day-to-day operations are led by PAA’s Executive Director. The Board–Executive Director relationship is one of mutual support, and active Board engagement is critical to the organization’s success.

We are specifically looking for an individual who brings proven fundraising experience and a passion for advancing nonprofit development efforts.

Key Responsibilities (listed items do not imply priority):

    • Work with the Executive Director and Board to support and advance the mission of Project AnimalAid, with a particular focus on strengthening fundraising strategy and outcomes.
    • Provide governance oversight, including reviewing and approving PAA’s strategic direction, annual budget, audit reports, and major organizational decisions, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Executive Director, particularly in the areas of fundraising, donor development, and revenue growth. Help identify, evaluate, and implement effective fundraising strategies.
    • Actively contribute to fundraising efforts by leveraging personal and professional networks to identify, cultivate, and solicit donors, sponsors, and partners.
    • Play a leadership role in Board fundraising initiatives, including events, campaigns, and donor engagement strategies. Support and enhance the organization’s signature fundraising events.
    • Serve as an ambassador for PAA, strengthening relationships with donors, prospects, and the broader community. Act as an active “friend-raiser” to expand PAA’s network of supporters.
    • Make a personally meaningful annual financial contribution, with the expectation that Board members prioritize PAA among their top charitable commitments.
    • Participate in and assist in donor engagement opportunities, including events and site visits that deepen understanding of PAA’s mission and impact (if Candidate lives along Colorado's Front Range)
    • Contribute expertise and time to Board service, including participation in meetings, committees, and task forces, with a willingness to take on leadership roles as appropriate.
    • In collaboration with the Board, hire, advise, and annually evaluate the Executive Director.
    • Support PAA’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by helping build a Board and staff that reflect the communities served.
