Volunteers in Service to the Elderly (VISTE)

Bag Floppers/Sorters

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

This volunteer opportunity is NOT eligible for court-ordered service.

VISTE needs volunteers to help sort bags for their warehouse. The warehouse uses these bags to fill with donated food items to give to seniors in need. Volunteers will pick up bags and an empty box from VISTE and bring them home or to a comfortable location. Volunteers will check the bags for holes, cleanliness, and durability. Any bags that will not be a good fit can be recycled. The good bags should be flattened and placed into the box by color. After completing the given bags you can return for more or simply drop off the box back to VISTE.

Food Drive Coordinator

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

This volunteer opportunity is NOT eligible for court-ordered service.

VISTE is looking for volunteers to host a food drive in their community (school, church, neighborhood) to benefit VISTE's clients who receive hot meals and food commodity boxes. You can visit your neighbors and educate them on the project. You can even create flyers to distribute. Collect any donated perishables and bring them to VISTE.

Meal Delivery

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

This volunteer opportunity is NOT eligible for court-ordered service.

VISTE needs volunteers to pick up hot meals and deliver them to their clients. Meals will be picked up from First Presbyterian Church between 10am and 11am. A list of client names and contact information will be provided for deliveries.

Meal Delivery Substitute

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

This volunteer opportunity is NOT eligible for court-ordered service.

Phone Pal

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

This volunteer opportunity is NOT eligible for court-ordered service.

VISTE is seeking volunteers to make phone calls to clients who might otherwise have very limited social interaction. Calls will be on weekly basis as a reassuring and friendly phone call.
