    Description

    Volunteer Facebook Community Group Team

Organization: The Animal Cause, Inc. (TAC)

    Position Type: Volunteer Role

    Location: Remote (U.S. Only)

Time Commitment: Approximately 5–10 hours per week (flexible)

Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen, and a U.S. resident

    Position Overview

The Facebook Community Group Team fosters an active, supportive, and well-moderated online community for supporters, fosters, volunteers, and advocates of The Animal Cause. This Team turns passive social media followers into an engaged community network that actively shares campaigns, supports foster placements, and amplifies animal visibility.

    Responsibilities

    • Group Moderation & Administration: Monitor daily group posts, approve member requests using screening questions, enforce community guidelines, and maintain a welcoming, respectful environment.
    • Content & Community Engagement: Post regular discussion prompts, foster updates, volunteer spotlights, and campaign announcements (including Make Room for Mercy and Mercy Stage assets).
    • Amplification Mobilization: Encourage members to share approved animal visibility posts through the Mercy Stage Amplification Network.
    • Feedback & Lead Routing: Monitor member inquiries, flag potential foster or volunteer interest for team leads, and route urgent questions to TAC staff.
    • Group Growth Strategy: Develop basic engagement initiatives to grow active membership and increase organic post reach.

    Immediate Priorities

    1. Audit existing Facebook Group settings, membership screening questions, and rules.
    2. Establish a weekly engagement schedule (e.g., "Mondays: Foster Spotlights," "Wednesdays: Mercy Stage Animals").
    3. Implement standard moderation procedures for handling off-topic comments or unverified claims.

    Screening Questions

    1. What experience do you have moderating or growing Facebook Groups for non-profits or community organizations?
    2. How do you handle conflict, misinformation, or rule violations in an online community?
    3. How would you encourage passive group members to actively share animal visibility posts?
    4. Why are you interested in supporting a faith-aligned animal welfare non-profit?
    5. What is your realistic weekly availability for this role?
