    This is a flexible remote volunteer opportunity requiring approximately 2–5 hours per week. Volunteers will also participate in a bi-monthly Zoom check-in with the team to collaborate, share updates, and support ongoing initiatives.

    Description

    Creative Volunteer – Presentation & Visual Storytelling

    Black in Mayberry (BiM) is seeking a creative and detail-oriented volunteer to help design impactful presentations and slide decks that support our mission of combating racism through the arts.

    We are looking for someone who can transform ideas, programs, and community initiatives into visually engaging presentations for events, workshops, fundraising efforts, partnerships, and public outreach.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a volunteer who enjoys design, storytelling, and social impact work.

    Responsibilities

    • Create visually engaging presentation decks using PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, or similar platforms
    • Help organize content into clear, compelling presentations
    • Support presentations for community programs, arts initiatives, fundraising, sponsorships, and special events
    • Incorporate branding, photos, artwork, and graphics into presentations
    • Collaborate with team members to strengthen messaging and visual storytelling
    • Revise and update existing presentations as needed

    Qualifications

    • Experience designing presentations or visual materials
    • Strong eye for layout, typography, and visual storytelling
    • Comfortable using presentation/design software such as Canva, Google Slides, or PowerPoint
    • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
    • Interest in social justice, racial equity, arts advocacy, community engagement, or nonprofit work
    • Portfolio or work samples are appreciated but not required

    We welcome volunteers of all experience levels who are passionate about creativity, community impact, and combating racism through the arts. Selected volunteers will be contacted for a short virtual conversation to discuss interests, availability, and next steps.
