Description
Are you passionate about visual storytelling, digital content, and building community online? Join us at FOUND, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting people in transition, especially those on dependent visas or in pauses.
We’re looking for a Volunteer Video Editor to help us create engaging, short-form social media video content. This role focuses primarily on YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels. You don’t need to create highly complex edits, but you should understand current short-form trends and how editing choices help grab and hold attention.
What You’ll Do
- Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
- Apply basic attention-retention techniques (strong hooks, pacing, captions, visual rhythm)
- Add simple text overlays, subtitles, and light motion where appropriate
- Collaborate with our Social Media Team to ensure videos align with FOUND’s tone and mission
- Follow platform-specific formatting and best practices
- Use Notion as a shared collaboration and project-tracking space
What We’re Looking For
- Experience editing short-form video content for social platforms
- Awareness of current editing trends and formats that improve engagement and retention
- Ability to keep edits clean, clear, and human (not over-produced)
- Comfort using at least one editing platform (CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
- Ability to manage time independently and collaborate asynchronously
- Availability to commit ~10 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- Familiarity with nonprofit, educational, or community-based content
- Interest in mental health, immigrant communities, or storytelling with care
What You’ll Gain
- Hands-on experience shaping the video voice of a growing nonprofit
- Portfolio-ready short-form video work
- A collaborative, thoughtful team environment
- Flexible hours and remote collaboration
