Dog Feeder/Cleaner Volunteer

Homeward Pet Adoption Center is seeking compassionate and reliable volunteers to join our Dog Feeder/Cleaner team. This hands-on role helps ensure our dogs receive excellent daily care while maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Able to commit to a minimum of 3 months of volunteering
• Dependable and able to attend scheduled shifts regularly

Responsibilities include:

• Feeding dogs according to care instructions
• Cleaning kennels and common areas
• Washing dishes, laundry, and shelter supplies
• Monitoring dog health and behavior and reporting concerns to staff
• Providing enrichment and positive interactions when appropriate
• Assisting staff with daily shelter operations

What we're looking for:

• Volunteers who are dependable and willing to commit to regular shifts
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced shelter environment
• Able to lift, bend, stand, and perform cleaning tasks
• Passion for animal welfare and helping homeless pets

Training Provided

No prior shelter experience is required. All volunteers receive orientation and hands-on training before volunteering independently.

Shift Times

• Morning: 9:00am–11:30am
• Evening: 5:30pm–8:00pm

Please note that this role focuses on feeding, cleaning, and daily animal care. Dog walking opportunities may be available after additional training and experience.
