    The Healing Closet Corp. serves as a healing resource in the Metro Atlanta, GA community for the homeless, less-fortunate, and unhoused. We offer support and resources to individuals and families in need, focusing on improving their quality of life and helping them on their path to self-sufficiency. Our mission is to provide essential services and foster a compassionate community for those facing housing instability.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time hybrid role for a Board Member located in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, with some work from home acceptable. As a Board Member, you will be responsible for strategic planning, organizational governance, and financial oversight. You will collaborate with other board members, support the executive team, and ensure that the organization's mission and goals are being met. Regular duties include attending board meetings, participating in committee work, and providing guidance on fundraising and community outreach efforts.

    Board Member Role Description

    Serving the homeless community in Atlanta, GA through clothing, resources, and compassion.

    Position: Board Member (Volunteer, Unpaid)

    Term: 1–2 years (renewable)

    Time Commitment: 4–8 hours per month, including meetings, events, and outreach.

    Director of Fundraising & Development

    Role: Director of Fundraising & Development

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead annual fundraising strategy and donor engagement.
    • Plan seasonal and event-based fundraising campaigns.
    • Maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and grant partners.
    • Work with the Treasurer to align fundraising with financial goals.

    Time Commitment: 4–8 hours per month

    Committee: Fundraising & Development Committee

    Committee Purpose + Goals:

    • Build sustainable revenue streams for The Healing Closet Corp.
    • Manage seasonal fundraising events and donor relationships.

    Committee Chair / POC: Director of Fundraising & Development

    Purpose of the Role

    Board Members provide governance, strategic direction, fundraising support, and community connections to ensure The Healing Closet Corp. fulfills its mission to serve and support the homeless population.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Mission & Governance
      • Uphold and actively promote the mission and values of The Healing Closet Corp.
      • Attend and participate in monthly board meetings (virtual or in-person).
      • Review and approve budgets, strategic plans, and policies.
    • Fundraising & Resources
      • Contribute an annual give-or-get (minimum $300 OR equivalent in sponsorships/donations).
      • Help identify and connect with potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities.
      • Participate in at least two major fundraising or community events per year.
    • Advocacy & Outreach
      • Serve as an ambassador for The Healing Closet Corp. in the community.
      • Share our work through your network and on social media.
      • Help recruit volunteers and partners.
    • Commitment
      • Serve on at least one committee (e.g., Fundraising, Marketing, Programs).
      • Complete assigned action items within agreed deadlines.
      • Maintain confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest.

    Qualifications

    • Passion for helping the homeless and underserved populations.
    • Willingness to contribute time, skills, and resources.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Experience in any of the following is a plus: nonprofit leadership, fundraising, marketing, finance, law, community outreach, grant writing.
