Honor Those Who Served: Become a Veteran Volunteer

Have you served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, or Reserves? Would you like to make a meaningful difference in the life of a fellow Veteran?

Beacon Hospice, an Amedisys company, is seeking Veteran Volunteers to provide companionship, support, and recognition to Veterans receiving hospice care.

Veterans share a unique bond forged through service, sacrifice, and commitment to something greater than themselves. As a Veteran Volunteer, you can offer comfort, understanding, and camaraderie to fellow service members during an important stage of life.

    What You'll Do

As a Veteran Volunteer, you may:

    • Visit Veteran patients for companionship and conversation
    • Share stories and memories of military service and life experiences
    • Read together, write letters, play cards, chess, or board games
    • Watch television, listen to music, or simply spend time together
    • Provide a listening ear and a connection rooted in shared military experience
    • Participate in Veteran Recognition and Pinning Ceremonies that honor a Veteran's service and sacrifice

    Who We're Looking For

Whether you served during wartime, peacetime, or anywhere in between, your service and experience can help bring comfort to a fellow Veteran.

    Why Volunteer?

Many Veteran hospice patients find comfort in connecting with someone who understands the culture, values, and experiences of military service. Your presence can:

    • Reduce loneliness and social isolation
    • Create meaningful connections
    • Help Veterans feel seen, valued, and appreciated
    • Honor their service at the end of life
    • Provide support to patients and their families

    Commitment & Training

    • Flexible scheduling
    • Approximately 1–2 hours per week
    • Comprehensive hospice volunteer training provided
    • Ongoing support from our hospice team

No medical experience is required, just compassion, reliability, and a desire to continue serving others.

    Continue Your Legacy of Service

The mission may be different, but the impact is just as meaningful.

Join Beacon Hospice in ensuring that every Veteran receives the recognition, respect, and companionship they deserve.

Apply today and help us honor those who served our nation.
