We wouldn’t be able to help the women and their babies without generous, faithful donors. It is essential to promptly acknowledge their contributions, whether they are material or monetary donations. It is efficient for the Director to distribute these duties based on the type, size, and source of the donation. It is usually most appropriate to mail handwritten acknowledgements for paper checks and material donations, whether to individuals or organizations (e.g. Knights of Columbus councils and sororities). We also receive digital donations, directly to our bank account, through Mighty Cause, Your Cause, or United Way. In those cases, an acknowledgement can be done by sending an email to the donor. If a large donation is made, the Director may ask a member of the Board of Directors to write such acknowledgements, whether it is a personal handwritten note or an email.
