    Description

Volunteer Social Media & Community Engagement Assistant

Faith Paws Partners, Inc. is a new and growing nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting cats and dogs through partnerships, foster care, volunteerism, education, and advocacy.

We are seeking a dependable, creative, responsible, and self-motivated Volunteer Social Media & Community Engagement Assistant to help build and maintain our growing online presence.

This volunteer will work directly with the Founder & Executive Director and provide much of the day-to-day support needed to keep Faith Paws Partners active, visible, and engaged on social media. The Founder & Executive Director will remain actively involved in social media, organizational messaging, content direction, and overall oversight.

Our current platforms are Instagram and Facebook, with the possibility of expanding to additional social media platforms as the organization grows.

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Monitoring Faith Paws Partners’ Instagram and Facebook accounts throughout the week
    • Helping maintain a consistent social media presence
    • Researching and identifying relevant animal-welfare organizations, shelters, rescues, and community groups to follow and engage with
    • Engaging appropriately with animal-welfare organizations and community accounts
    • Identifying animal-welfare observances, pet-related awareness days, educational campaigns, and timely topics
    • Researching and recommending relevant content ideas
    • Developing and maintaining a social media content calendar
    • Drafting, creating, scheduling, and publishing approved content
    • Assisting with graphics, Stories, Reels, captions, and other social media content
    • Monitoring comments, messages, tags, mentions, and engagement
    • Sharing approved educational and community resources
    • Helping increase Faith Paws Partners’ followers, reach, engagement, and community awareness organically
    • Supporting promotion of programs, volunteer opportunities, community events, campaigns, partnerships, and future initiatives
    • Reviewing basic social media insights and helping identify content that performs well
    • Providing regular updates to the Founder & Executive Director regarding activity, engagement, upcoming content, and priorities

    The ideal volunteer:

    • Is 18 years of age or older
    • Is comfortable using Instagram and Facebook
    • Has strong written communication skills
    • Is dependable, responsible, responsive, and organized
    • Can work independently while collaborating with the Founder & Executive Director
    • Is a self-starter who can identify appropriate content and engagement opportunities without needing to be given every daily assignment
    • Demonstrates good judgment when communicating publicly on behalf of an organization
    • Is willing to learn and follow Faith Paws Partners’ mission, branding, voice, and social media guidelines
    • Has a genuine interest in animal welfare and community engagement
    • Can maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding organizational information and social media access

Experience with social media management, Canva, Meta Business Suite, communications, marketing, nonprofit organizations, animal welfare, or community engagement is helpful but not required.

The current time commitment is approximately 4–8 hours per week, spread throughout the week rather than completed in one full day. Because social media activity occurs throughout the week, the volunteer should be available periodically for posting, scheduling, monitoring, engagement, and communication with the Founder & Executive Director.

Faith Paws Partners is a new and developing organization, and the responsibilities and time commitment associated with this role may grow as the organization grows. Future community events, programs, campaigns, partnerships, volunteer initiatives, and additional social media platforms may create new responsibilities. Any significant increase in responsibilities or expected volunteer hours will be discussed with the volunteer in advance.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to review our website and social media presence before applying:

    Website: https://faithpawspartners.com

    Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FaithPawsPartners

    Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/faithpawspartners8126

Applicants should submit a current résumé and a brief statement explaining why they are interested in volunteering with Faith Paws Partners, along with any relevant experience in social media, communications, marketing, nonprofit organizations, community engagement, or animal welfare. Applicants may also provide links to relevant social media content, graphics, portfolios, writing samples, or other work they have created.

We are looking for someone interested not only in maintaining social media accounts, but also in helping build the online presence and community recognition of a new animal-welfare nonprofit from the ground up.
