Long Covid Support is seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees.

This is an opportunity to bring your financial knowledge to a charity that supports people living with Long Covid. We are looking for someone who can offer sound judgement, clear financial insight and a strong understanding of good governance.

If you are interested in contributing at Board level and supporting the development of a national charity, we would welcome your application.

What will you be doing (role overview)?:

As Treasurer and Trustee, you will support the Board in overseeing the charity’s finances, sustainability and governance responsibilities.

This is a strategic role. You will work with fellow trustees to strengthen financial oversight, support effective decision-making, and help ensure the Board has a clear understanding of the charity’s financial position and longer-term needs.

You will be joining a charity with a clear purpose and a strong community-led mission.

What are we looking for (about you)?

We are looking for someone with strong financial understanding and the confidence to contribute at Board level. Previous trustee experience is not essential, provided you have relevant financial experience and an interest in supporting the charity’s work.

We would particularly welcome applicants with experience in:

    • finance, accountancy, audit, banking, or financial management
    • interpreting financial information and explaining it clearly
    • risk, controls, budgeting, and strategic financial planning
    • charity finance, compliance, and reporting

We are also looking for someone who can bring:

    • sound judgement and a balanced approach
    • a collaborative and constructive style
    • commitment to accountability and good governance
    • enthusiasm for the work and values of Long Covid Support

Lived experience of Long Covid, or an understanding of its impact, would be welcomed but is not essential.

    What difference will you make:

You will help ensure the charity remains financially robust, well governed and able to deliver its mission effectively. Your contribution will support strong oversight, informed planning and responsible use of resources.

Most importantly, you will help strengthen a charity that supports, represents and advocates for people affected by Long Covid.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • support the Board with oversight of the charity’s financial position
    • preparation of annual budget and annual accounts
    • help trustees understand budgets, financial reports and financial risk
    • contribute to financial planning and longer-term sustainability
    • support effective financial controls and good governance
    • help ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory responsibilities
    • contribute fully as an active member of the Board of Trustees
    • support the preparation and presentation of annual accounts and related reporting

    Application Process:

Please send your CV and a short covering statement outlining your interest in the role and the experience you would bring.

    Equal ops statement:

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We provide equal opportunities for all, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. We actively encourage applications from all individuals of all backgrounds, particularly those with lived experience of Long Covid.

    Closing statement:

This is an opportunity to contribute your financial insight in a role with real purpose. If you want to support good governance and help a national charity continue its important work for people affected by Long Covid, we would be pleased to hear from you.
