Family Day Shelter Volunteer - help support families experiencing homelessness

Our day shelter (Day Center) provides a safe, welcoming place for families with children who are experiencing homelessness, and working towards permanent housing. We are looking for compassionate and reliable volunteers to help support the daily operations of our Day Center and create a positive environment for the families we serve.

Day Center Volunteers assist staff with a variety of tasks that help the shelter run smoothly and ensure families feel welcomed and supported.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Answer and direct phone calls/ Take messages
• Check families in and out of the Day Shelter
• Help maintain a welcoming front desk environment
• Restock supplies and assist with light organizational tasks
• Provide general support to staff as needed

• Friendly, dependable volunteers who enjoy helping others
• Comfort interacting with children and families during a challenging time in their lives
• Ability to maintain a respectful and welcoming environment
• Ability to pass a background check

**Training and orientation will be provided.
