Description
The Refugee Resettlement department of the Immigrant and Refugee Services Division of CCCS-NY is looking for volunteer to provide ad hoc interpretation and translation for refugee clients in Ukrainian, Russian, and Haitian Creole.
As part of the department's Volunteer Interpretation Program, volunteers will join a database of interpreters that will receive training and may be called upon to provide translation or interpretation for a number of possible events/appointments, such as:
- RR department events
- Meetings with case managers
- Phone calls with doctors, public benefits offices, educational institutions, etc.
This position has no specific time commitment and tasks are usually able to be conducted remotely (other than interpretation at events).
Requirements:
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Ukrainian, Russian, or Haitian Creole
- Ability to communicate with a diverse range of clients and professionals
