About Troopathon Troopathon is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit military charity dedicated to supporting the brave men and women of our Armed Forces. For over 20 years, we've provided emotional and tangible support to active-duty troops deployed in combat zones worldwide by sending hand-packed, personalized care packages. We also offer resources and assistance to military families and veterans in need. Our mission is simple but powerful: Boost morale one package at a time, with 100% transparency and top-tier charity ratings.

Role Overview We're looking for a passionate Social Media Volunteer (or small team of volunteers) to help build our online presence and inspire more people to get involved—whether volunteering, donating, sponsoring, or sharing the word. This is a key role to keep our community engaged and grow support for the troops!

Key Responsibilities (we'll provide training, assets, and guidance):

• Create and schedule 2–3 social media posts per week on platforms like Facebook and Instagram (using our provided photos/videos of troops, volunteers, care packages, events, and sponsors).
• Include strong calls to action (e.g., "Sign up to volunteer!" "Check out our sponsors" "Donate to send a package").
• Post timely content for holidays, military observances (e.g., Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day), and troop-related days.
• Use simple tools like Canva (free nonprofit access), Meta Business Suite.
• Monitor comments/engagement lightly and respond where needed (or flag for us).
• Help with basic email newsletter ideas if interested (optional).

What We Provide

• Access to high-quality photos, videos, and graphics from events, sponsor visits, and troop deliveries.
• Clear guidelines, key messages, and a simple content calendar template.
• Training on our tools and branding.
• Shout-outs, references, or LinkedIn endorsements for your resume/portfolio.
• The chance to make a real difference—your posts could directly lead to more care packages reaching deployed heroes!

Who We're Looking For

• Someone enthusiastic about supporting the military, troops, veterans, or patriotic causes.
• Basic social media experience (posting, scheduling, Canva/graphic tools a plus—but not required; we'll guide you).
• Reliable, creative, and self-motivated (work independently but communicate as needed).
• Strong writing/editing for captions (short, engaging, heartfelt).
• Bonus: Military/veteran/family background, or marketing/comms experience.

This is a volunteer role (unpaid), but it's incredibly rewarding—your efforts help amplify stories of gratitude from troops and bring in the support needed to keep sending packages.
