    Volunteer – Social Media, Education & Community Outreach

    RAPNJ is seeking a creative and community-minded volunteer to help strengthen our social media presence, expand community awareness, and support educational outreach. This role is ideal for someone interested in communications, nonprofit work, community engagement, education, or refugee and immigrant issues.

    Position Overview

    RAPNJ is seeking a creative and community-minded volunteer to help strengthen our social media presence, expand community awareness, and support educational outreach. This role is ideal for someone interested in communications, nonprofit work, community engagement, education, or refugee and immigrant issues.

    Key Responsibilities

    Social Media & Communications

    • Assist with creating and scheduling content for RAPNJ’s social media platforms.
    • Develop posts highlighting programs, events, volunteer opportunities, community resources, and RAPNJ’s impact.
    • Help identify relevant refugee and immigrant news, resources, and awareness campaigns to share.
    • Support the development of simple graphics, flyers, and other digital content.
    • Help maintain a consistent and engaging online presence.

    Education & Awareness

    • Help develop educational content about refugee resettlement, community needs, and ways the public can support newcomers.
    • Research relevant topics, resources, and community information that can be shared with volunteers and supporters.
    • Assist with awareness campaigns, presentations, workshops, or community discussions.
    • Identify opportunities to engage schools, colleges, faith communities, and community organizations.

    Community Outreach

    • Help identify potential community partners, volunteers, organizations, and local businesses.
    • Support outreach to expand RAPNJ’s presence throughout Essex County and surrounding communities.
    • Assist with promoting RAPNJ events, volunteer opportunities, and community initiatives.
    • Help maintain outreach lists and track potential partnerships and follow-up opportunities.

    Ideal Volunteer

    We are looking for someone who:

    • Is comfortable with social media and digital communication.
    • Has strong written communication and organizational skills.
    • Is creative and willing to bring new ideas.
    • Has an interest in community engagement, education, nonprofits, or refugee support.
    • Can work independently while collaborating with RAPNJ volunteers and leadership.
    • Experience with Canva, social media management, communications, or community outreach is helpful but not required.
