    Description

Make someone's last moments their best moments. Become a Hospice Volunteer!

Hospice of the Midwest, an Adoration Health partner, provides compassionate care to individuals facing a life-limiting illness. We proudly serve patients and families throughout the greater Des Moines, IA market, including Boone, Dallas, Madison, Polk, Story, and Warren counties.

Our mission is simple: to ensure every patient is treated with dignity, respect, and comfort during life’s final journey. This care is delivered by a dedicated team of hospice professionals who work together to support both patients and their families.

Volunteers are a vital part of the Hospice of the Midwest team. By sharing your time and compassion, you can bring comfort, companionship, and support to individuals and families during a meaningful stage of life.

There are many ways you can serve as a hospice volunteer, including:

    • Visiting with patients and providing companionship
    • Offering emotional support to patients and their loved ones
    • Sharing music, reading, crafts, or conversation
    • Assisting with light administrative or outreach activities
    • Using your unique talents to brighten someone’s day

Some volunteer roles involve visiting patients, while others can be completed from home or by assisting in our office.

If you have a compassionate heart and a desire to help others, hospice volunteering is a meaningful way to give back to your community. Your presence can make a lasting difference for someone at the end of life.

Join the Hospice of the Midwest volunteer team and help bring comfort, dignity, and connection to those who need it most.
