Details
Description
Volunteers in the Buffalo area are invited to help us in our mission to preserve historic records from across New York State. The Western New York Digitization Center is located within the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library in Buffalo, NY. Digitization volunteers are trained to:
- Scan documents
- Handle fragile records
- Transport materials to and from partners and off-site storage
- Follow best practices for file management and inventory
Our Western New York Digitization Center has state-of-the-art digitization hardware that we typically operate weekdays in three-hour shifts. Volunteers are asked to commit to a shift once a week.
All volunteers must attend a virtual orientation prior to their training and shift selection.
