Construction Hike for Hope Event

Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer Committee Members to support the planning and execution of our Construction Hike for Hope on June 27th. Committee members play a vital role in ensuring the event runs smoothly, meets fundraising goals, and delivers a meaningful experience for participants and sponsors. This is a volunteer leadership opportunity ideal for individuals who are passionate about community engagement, event planning, and supporting a great cause. It's a bonus if you have connections to the construction industry or related industries.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Logistics
- Assist with route planning, permits, and site coordination
- Support vendor coordination (e.g., tents, signage, refreshments)
- Help organize event-day schedules and volunteer assignments
Sponsorship & Fundraising
- Identify and solicit sponsors and in-kind donors
- Support outreach to construction industry partners and local businesses
- Assist with participant fundraising encouragement and tracking
Marketing & Outreach
- Promote the event through professional and community networks
- Support social media outreach and email promotion
- Assist with recruitment of hikers and teams in creative ways
Event-Day Support
- Participate in setup and breakdown
- Serve as an ambassador for the event
- Ensure a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for all attendees
Time Commitment
- Attend bi-weekly committee meetings
- Provide support on event day: June 27th
- Estimated commitment is flexible, but we're looking for someone to commit 2-5 hours per week leading up to the event.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and organized
- Passion for community engagement and mission-driven work
- Connections within the construction industry (a plus, but not required)
- Prior event planning or fundraising experience (preferred, but not required)
