    Do you speak Cantonese? Become a Friendly Visitor for an older adult in Queens!

    Queens Community House is recruiting volunteers for our Friendly Visiting program, a program that matches home bound older adults with volunteers for weekly visiting to help create a mutual relationship and reduce isolation and loneliness among older adults in our community.

    Friendly visiting is an enriching opportunity for the volunteer to develop a meaningful friendship. Together, the older adult and volunteer can discuss shared interests, learn/teach new skills, read books, learn technology, and much more!

    We are currently in need of Cantonese speaking volunteers for older adults living in Forest Hills, Queens for telephone calls!

    The time commitment is only 1 hour a week. We can work around your schedule!
