    Description

    Crafts Sale Events Volunteers

    RWC runs a sewing program with Afghan refugee women. We sell what they make at local crafts fairs. We are looking for people to work with experienced volunteers at the following sale:

    Celebrate West Hartford

    Date: June 6 & 7, 2026

    Time: Sat.10am-6pm, Sun.12-6pm. We need help setting up before 10am and packing up at the end of the day. You do not have to volunteer to work the entire time. You can work part of the day.

    Please send me the specific day and time you can work the booth. If you are new to this, there will always be an experienced person there.

    Position Description: We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Crafts Sale Events Volunteers. This volunteer position is essential for the success of our craft sales events, where products crafted by refugee women in our sewing program are showcased and sold.

    Requirements:

    • Willingness to work at craft fairs to sell products from our refugee women's sewing program.
    • Availability to work for part of the day during craft sale events.

    Duties:

    • Setup and Take Down:
      • Assist in the setup and take down of the exhibit before and after the craft sale event.
      • Ensure that the display is organized, visually appealing, and representative of the products.
    • Customer Interaction:
      • Engage with customers in a friendly and informative manner.
      • Answer questions about the products, sewing program, and the organization.
      • Pitch the sewing program and share the empowering stories of the refugee women.
    • Sales Process:
      • Accept payment for products using the designated payment methods.
      • Provide customers with receipts and thank-you notes.
      • Maintain an organized and secure cash handling process.
    • Event Coordination:
      • Collaborate with fellow volunteers to ensure smooth event operations.
      • Work closely with event organizers to address any logistical needs.
      • Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere at the craft sale event.

    Time Commitment:

    • Availability to work for part of the day during craft sale events.
