    Organization: Mentor A Promise (MAP)

    Location: Remote with NYC-based collaboration as needed

    About Mentor A Promise

    Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a NYC-based nonprofit serving children and youth ages 5–18 experiencing housing instability through mentorship, education, social-emotional learning, creative expression, publishing, housing innovation, and community-based programs. MAP’s ability to serve children and families depends on ethical, transparent, and well-coordinated fundraising efforts that honor dignity and trust.

    About the Promise of Giving Division

    The Promise of Giving Division leads all fundraising, grants, advancement, and donor engagement efforts at MAP. The division ensures that generosity—whether from individuals, foundations, or partners—is stewarded responsibly and aligned with MAP’s mission, values, and long-term sustainability.

    Role Overview

    The Fundraising Coordinator supports the Promise of Giving Division by coordinating day-to-day fundraising activities, donor communications, and development operations. This role plays a critical part in keeping fundraising efforts organized, responsive, and mission-aligned.

    The Fundraising Coordinator works closely with Development leadership, Partnerships, Programs, and Content & Storytelling teams to ensure fundraising activities are accurate, timely, and respectful.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support coordination of fundraising campaigns, appeals, and initiatives
    • Assist with donor communications, acknowledgments, and stewardship activities
    • Track fundraising activities, donor interactions, and deadlines
    • Support grant-related coordination, including timelines and reporting support
    • Maintain organized records related to fundraising and advancement activities
    • Collaborate with Content & Storytelling to align fundraising messaging with impact
    • Assist in preparing materials for funders, donors, and partners
    • Support internal coordination across Development, Finance, and Partnerships
    • Maintain timely, professional responsiveness via email and chat in Google Workspace

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
    • Comfort working collaboratively in a mission-driven environment
    • Reliability and professionalism in handling sensitive information
    • Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or donor relations
    • Familiarity with fundraising campaigns, grants, or advancement operations
    • Experience using spreadsheets, databases, or donor management tools
    • Experience supporting volunteer or development teams
    • Interest in philanthropy, social impact, or nonprofit operations

    Commitment

    • Volunteer role
    • Approximately 5–10 hours per week
    • Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
    • Fully remote with optional NYC-based collaboration
