Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly's (LBFE) philosophy, programs and activities are focused on relieving loneliness and isolation among older adults throughout DuPage and Kane Counties. Our community of older adults, volunteers, staff, and supporters fosters friendship and social connection throughout the year. The need for social interaction is critical to the human spirit - we believe that nurturing the soul is as important as feeding the body.

If you are seeking to make new friends, be part of an in-person social group, or are yourself experiencing isolation, consider volunteering with LBFE. Our volunteers engage older persons through in-person visiting and events, celebrating birthdays and holidays, and delivering meals or groceries. Volunteers also engage with other volunteers and help form the core of LBFE's community.

Consider registering for an upcoming Zoom orientation, which reviews what LBFE does and the expectations of volunteers. Orientation is part of new volunteer onboarding, but can be used for informational purporses too, so there is no commitment required after orientation.
