About the JakeyMac Foundation & The "Earbuds vs. Eyeballs" Movement

JakeyMac Foundation, Inc. is a youth led 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to solving the adolescent screen-time crisis. Today's youth spend 7+ hours per day trapped in passive, sedentary visual loops.

Through our initiative, "Moms Fight Back", and our proprietary audio-learning ecosystem, we champion "Earbuds vs. Eyeballs"—displacing passive screen addiction with dynamic, gamified audiobooks and offline cognitive protocols AI Safety and Child Exploitation Prevention. By moving from screens to active audio immersion, we allow young minds to absorb complex stories, learn vocabulary, safety, life skills and leadership principles while keeping their bodies active and hands free.

Our operational platform and digital infrastructure are active, supported by an advanced intellectual property portfolio that bridges offline edge audio synthesis, cognitive buffering, and telecommunication distribution.

The Opportunity: Why We Need You

High-impact youth education technology faces aggressive reverse-engineering and circumvention from tech conglomerates and venture-backed platforms. To protect our educational innovations and secure our charitable mission, we have structured a bifurcated defensive perimeter—holding core proprietary assets in a dedicated IP holding entity (JJMAC LLC) while licensing operational rights to the JakeyMac Foundation for humanitarian, educational, and foundation deployments.

We are seeking a Pro Bono Intellectual Property Attorney, Registered Patent Attorney, or Senior IP Advisory Specialist to advise our leadership and board on stewarding our IP portfolio, reviewing strategic agreements, and ensuring our technological moat remains unassailable.

    Key Responsibilities & Advisory Scope

As our Pro Bono IP Counsel, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor to the Foundation's Board and Founder, collaborating on:

Patent Portfolio & 35 U.S.C. § 101 Strategy: Review and advise on claim architecture for three pending/provisional utility patent filings to ensure they clear the Alice Corp. / MPEP 2106 hurdle via technical edge-computing, buffer interleaving, and data optimization framing:

      1. Dynamic Cognitive Buffer Engine (Asynchronous lexical analysis and dynamic audio packet interleaving).
      2. Dual-Stream Audio Pipeline (Perspective-alternating acoustic state switching and cadence control).
      3. Offline AI Speech Telemetry (Edge speech validation, ultra-compact binary packet compression, and satellite D2C synchronization).
      • Trademark & Brand Protection: Oversee the protection strategy for our federal Intent-to-Use (ITU) trademark filings across USPTO International Classes 009, 028, 038, 041, and 042 (including STICKY WORDS, MIRRORED LEARNING, SMARTFAST TECH, GAME OF WORLD PEACE, and related marks).
      • Trade Secret & DTSA Compliance: Audit our trade secret protocols under the Defend Trade Secrets Act (18 U.S.C. § 1836), advising on air-gapped repositories, confidential marking hygiene, and statutory whistleblower immunity notices.
      • Entity Licensing & Non-Circumvention Governance: Review the field-restricted operational license between our IP holding company and the 501(c)(3) Foundation, as well as customized non-circumvention, NDA, and standstill agreements prior to strategic enterprise briefings.

    Qualifications

      • Licensure: J.D. from an accredited law school and active, good-standing license to practice law in any U.S. state (Florida, Delaware, New Mexico, California, or New York preferred).
      • Technical / IP Experience: 3+ years of experience in intellectual property law, software patent drafting/prosecution, trademark portfolio management, or IP licensing. (Registration to practice before the USPTO is a major plus, though not strictly required for general IP/licensing advisory).
      • Familiarity with Modern Tech Stacks: Understanding of edge computing, digital audio signal processing, telecommunications, or AI/NLP models is highly valued.
      • Commitment to Mission: A genuine interest in child health, cognitive development, youth sports, and reversing adolescent digital screen addiction.

    What You Will Receive

      • Direct Pro Bono Impact: Use your specialized legal skills to protect an innovative humanitarian program designed to rescue kids from algorithmic screen addiction.
      • Pro Bono CLE & Reporting Credit: We will gladly complete all documentation required by your state bar or firm to certify pro bono service hours.
      • Leadership & Advisory Recognition: Opportunity to be formally recognized on our Foundation's Legal Advisory Council, with direct engagement alongside senior corporate executives and non-profit leaders.
