As volunteers in the Music and the Arts Program in Jordan, participants will engage with Jordanian culture while also sharing their own expressions through music and art.

    This volunteer program in Jordan is perfect for those with an active interest in the arts, cross-cultural interaction, and exploring Jordanian art forms. The Volunteer in Music and the Arts Program is also available for academic credit, so university students are especially encouraged to apply.

    This volunteer opportunity spans from one week to three months (13 Weeks) year-round (Summer, Winter, Fall, and Spring). This creative program offers participants the chance to engage in music, visual arts, and cultural expression while working with Jordanian children, youth, women, and community groups in Amman and nearby areas.

    This inspiring volunteer opportunity is ideal for artists, musicians, students, educators, and anyone passionate about the arts and cultural exchange in the Middle East. You’ll collaborate with local communities, organize workshops and creative activities, and experience the vibrant art scene, rich heritage, and daily life of Jordan while making a meaningful cultural impact.

    Additionally, program participants currently enrolled in college or university can receive academic credit through the Jordanian Educational Authority for their contributions to the Excellence Center in Jordan. The types of credits offered depend on the specific program, but may include internship, community service, and Arabic language credits. The Music and Arts Program in Amman, Jordan, is perfect for anyone looking to gain experience in program management and teaching since volunteers will be in charge of both during their stay.

    What Do You Get From the Excellence Center in Jordan?

    What You Will Contribute

    The Music and Arts Program is highly flexible, allowing volunteers to tailor their service to their skills, interests, or academic focus. Volunteers are encouraged to choose from a variety of subjects, including music, poetry, painting, drawing, dance, and even more specialized crafts. The sky is the limit!

    With their specific subject in mind, volunteers will create workshops, organize performances, and work with local Jordanians, including children, to expand their artistic profile. Previous workshops and performances have included concerts for Jordanian families, demonstrations of various instruments, and even circus performances.

    These workshops let Jordanians access their creative side and discover their artistic potential and strengths. By volunteering in the arts, participants will provide Jordanians with the tools to build self-confidence and collective empowerment.

    Because this program is available to participants with a wide range of talents and skill levels, people of all artistic skills and levels are welcome to apply, so long as they have a passion for their chosen art form.
