    Description

    Organization:

LoopRoots Foundation (in partnership with LoopTroop Inc.)

Dover, Delaware | Remote / Hybrid

    About Us:

The LoopRoots Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rebuilding family connections, empowering reentry support, and advancing community stability through technology, wellness, and transportation access.

Our tech partner, LoopTroop Inc., is developing a purpose-driven rideshare and logistics platform — connecting families to visitation, care, and opportunity. Together, we’re creating a connected ecosystem that blends innovation, accessibility, and social impact.

We’re currently expanding our tech team to support the MVP launch of the LoopTroop app and associated programs like LoopTalk, LoopConnect, and LoopHome.

    Position Overview:

We are seeking both Front-End and Back-End Developers (or full-stack candidates) who are passionate about building products that matter. You’ll collaborate with our Tech Lead, Product Designers, and UI/UX Team to bring the LoopTroop app and Foundation web platforms to life.

This is a volunteer position during our MVP and pre-funding stage, with opportunities for paid transition post-launch.

    Key Responsibilities

    Front-End Developer:

    • Build user interfaces for the LoopTroop App and Foundation dashboard using Next.js / React.js.
    • Implement UI/UX designs from Figma, ensuring responsive, inclusive, and accessible experiences.
    • Integrate APIs (Stripe, Checkr, Twilio, Google Maps, etc.) for payment, verification, and route management.
    • Collaborate closely with UI/UX and QA teams for testing and refinement.

    Back-End Developer:

    • Develop and maintain APIs and backend services for trip scheduling, user profiles, and payment systems.
    • Work with Node.js / Express / Firebase / Supabase / PostgreSQL (or similar).
    • Implement authentication, user management, and secure data storage.
    • Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration and scalability.

    Qualifications

    • Proficiency in React.js / Next.js / Node.js / Firebase / PostgreSQL or comparable modern frameworks.
    • Understanding of RESTful APIs, cloud functions, and scalable architecture.
    • Experience with Git/GitHub and collaborative development.
    • Familiarity with Stripe, Twilio, or Checkr APIs preferred.
    • Passion for social impact, community empowerment, and tech-for-good.

    You’ll Collaborate With

    • Tech Lead: Sidharth Saravanan
    • UI/UX Design Team: Yaswanth Machavarapu & Shrutika N.R.
    • Founder & Executive Director: Marketta Kirby
    • Product Interface Designer: Shrutika NR
    • Operations Manager: Esther Ngaippe Yalassa
    • Cross-functional teams including Grant Writing, Legal, and Reentry Programs

    Commitment

    • 20–25 hours per week (remote, flexible schedule)
    • 6-9-month initial term, renewable through app launch phase

    What You’ll Gain

    • Hands-on experience launching a real social-impact tech product.
    • Opportunities for leadership and long-term growth within a growing organization.
    • Portfolio-ready project work in transportation tech and nonprofit innovation.
    • Recommendation letter and future paid role consideration post-launch.
