    Description

The African Cultural Heritage Hub Inc. (ACHH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting African cultural heritage through storytelling, traditional arts, music, dance, documentaries, youth programs, publications, and community events.

ACHH creates cultural education experiences that connect African folklore, history, creativity, and artistic traditions with children, families, schools, diaspora communities, and the wider public.

    Opportunity

ACHH is seeking mission-aligned Advisory Board Members and/or Board Members with experience or strong interest in fundraising, donor development, education partnerships, cultural programming, community engagement, nonprofit governance, or strategic growth.

This is an opportunity to help shape a growing cultural education nonprofit at an important stage of development. We are especially interested in individuals who can open doors, provide guidance, connect us with partners, support fundraising efforts, and help ACHH build a strong foundation for long-term impact.

    Key Responsibilities

Board and advisory members may help with one or more of the following:

    • Provide strategic guidance as ACHH expands its cultural education programs
    • Help identify and connect ACHH with schools, libraries, museums, cultural centers, community organizations, and youth-serving institutions
    • Support fundraising strategy, donor outreach, sponsorship development, and grant-readiness
    • Introduce ACHH to potential donors, partners, educators, and community leaders
    • Advise on nonprofit governance, program development, marketing, finance, legal, or community engagement
    • Attend periodic board or advisory meetings
    • Serve as an ambassador for ACHH’s mission
    • Help strengthen ACHH’s credibility, visibility, and institutional capacity

    Ideal Candidates

We welcome individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Fundraising or donor development
    • Education, schools, youth programming, or curriculum
    • Arts, culture, heritage, museums, libraries, or community programming
    • Nonprofit leadership or board service
    • Grant strategy or institutional partnerships
    • Marketing, communications, public relations, or media
    • Finance, accounting, legal, or governance
    • African, African diaspora, multicultural, or global heritage initiatives

Prior board experience is helpful but not required. A sincere commitment to ACHH’s mission is essential.

    Time Commitment

Estimated commitment: 3–5 hours per month, with flexibility depending on the member’s role, availability, and area of contribution.

This may include periodic meetings, introductions, review of materials, fundraising support, outreach, and strategic advice.

    Location

Remote, hybrid, or Atlanta-area participation may be considered.

    Why Join ACHH?

This is a meaningful opportunity to help build a cultural education organization that preserves African heritage and makes it accessible to young people, families, schools, and communities. Your experience and network can help ACHH grow from a promising nonprofit into a strong, visible, and sustainable institution.
