Strong written/verbal skills needed. Volunteers represent ALS Rhode Island, connect with donors/businesses by phone, email, or in person. Must be persuasive, confident, and kind serving as professional ambassadors for our mission.
Description
Join our dynamic gala committee and play a key role in planning and executing our signature fundraising event. As a committee member, you'll collaborate with passionate volunteers and staff to bring together an elegant evening that celebrates our mission while raising crucial funds for our programs.
What You'll Do:
- Assist with event planning activities including venue coordination, vendor management, and timeline development
- Help secure auction items, sponsorships, and promotional partnerships
- Support guest outreach, invitation distribution, and RSVP management
- Contribute to décor planning, seating arrangements, and day-of logistics
- Participate in monthly committee meetings and provide input on event strategy
- Assist with volunteer coordination and day-of-event responsibilities
What We're Looking For:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Previous event planning or fundraising experience preferred but not required
- Ability to commit 3-5 hours per month from September 2026 through the end of March 2027
- Enthusiasm for our cause and mission
- Professional network connections are a plus
Time Commitment: Monthly meetings plus additional time for specific tasks. Flexible scheduling available to accommodate various availability.
