I Want To Mow Your Lawn ® is a nonprofit that connects volunteer lawn-care teams with homeowners who genuinely need the help — elderly neighbors, disabled veterans, single parents working two jobs, people recovering from illness, and anyone who's fallen behind on their yard and can't catch back up alone.
This listing is specifically for Service Days — coordinated group events where three or more volunteers help multiple homes in a single morning or afternoon.
Why it matters right now
Since spring kicked in two months ago, 38 homeowners in Oklahoma City have reached out asking for exactly this kind of help. It's code-enforcement letters. It's shame. It's isolation. One coordinated Saturday morning can lift all of that off four or five families at once.
What a Service Day looks like
A group of three or more — friends, coworkers, a congregation, a scout troop, a company's community day, a family reunion with a purpose — picks a date and tells us what they can support. We surface a cluster of pre-screened homeowner requests in the area that matches the group's size and capabilities. The group reviews the cluster, approves the homes that fit, and shows up on the day. We coordinate the rest.
Who can host
Volunteers 16+ are welcome (with parental consent if under 18). Teens earning service hours are a great fit.
How the signup works (our wizard)
Our Service Day signup wizard walks hosts through five steps, usually in under ten minutes:
What you get from us
Time commitment
A single Service Day typically runs 3–4 hours of actual work, plus a short onboarding the week of. Most hosts set up their first event in under ten minutes. Groups can host once, annually, quarterly — whatever cadence fits.
What hosts tell us they get out of it
Team bonding that actually means something. A real story for the company newsletter or the congregation bulletin. Service hours logged and documented. And the specific, durable feeling of leaving a block in better shape than you found it.
OKC already has one of our most active volunteer communities — a Service Day here joins a culture of showing up that's already built.
Bring a team of three or more. We'll handle the rest.
Click through to our Service Day signup page to get started. You'll pick your date, tell us how many volunteers you're bringing (minimum 3), and set your capacity for how many homes you'd like to serve. From there, our wizard surfaces a cluster of pre-screened homeowner requests in your area — you review each one and approve the homes that fit your schedule. Nothing is finalized until you say yes. Most hosts get through it in under 10 minutes.
