Vigil Volunteering For Hospice Patients - No One Dies Alone

We are seeking uniquely compassionate individuals looking to give back to the community in a not often thought about role -

Standing Vigil.

Everyone goes through their end of life journey - and here at AccentCare we believe that No One should Die Alone.

As a NODA/Vigil volunteer you would provide compassionate presence for patients who would otherwise be alone while in their last hours. Even if someone does have a loved one at the bedside, our Vigil volunteers are able to act as an emotional/spiritual anchor to help guide both parties through this difficult time should the need arise.

This is a heavy, unforgettable, and deeply humbling experience. If you feel you are prepared to help with this great need then dont hesitate to reach out! You will receive training, guidance, and around the clock support to help facilitate every visit. And with every visit you can rest easy knowing that you helped make the last moments of some one's life warm and loved.

We cover all of Hillsborough with 500+ patients on our services, so there is no shortage of this need (vigil volunteers are NOT expected to travel more than 30 minutes for a visit). And we will try to always have you work in tandem with our other vigil volunteers so that the load is shared!
