    Description

    Volunteer Digital Communications Coordinator

    Helping Hands of Chinese communities ( HHCC) is seeking a creative and tech-savvy volunteer to manage our social media, website updates, and digital outreach.

    HHCC serves immigrants, older adults, families and youth through education, cultural activities, technology assistance, citizenship preparation and community engagement.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Create and schedule engaging posts for social media platforms (WeChat, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
    • Draft and distribute monthly community newsletters using email marketing tools.
    • Update the HHCC website with new event dates, program announcements, and photos.
    • Design simple, clean flyers and digital graphics using Canva or similar tools.
    • Monitor digital communication channels and forward community inquiries to leadership.
    • Maintain organized digital media archives (photos, videos, and graphics) in Google Drive.

    Qualifications:

    • Dependable, creative, and detail-oriented.
    • Experience managing social media accounts or basic websites (WordPress, Wix, etc.) is preferred.
    • Comfort using Canva, Google Workspace, and email marketing platforms.
    • Strong written communication skills.
    • Mandarin Chinese or another community language is helpful but not required.

    Commitment:

    Approximately three to five hours per week for at least six months. Most work can be completed remotely, with occasional meetings or activities in Tacoma.
