    Description

    This is currently a volunteer position. Contributors will gain hands-on experience building real-world AI systems for public health impact.

    About the Role

    This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity for early-career engineers interested in gaining hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications for social impact in healthcare and public health.

    Commitment

    • 3–6 hours per week
    • Remote
    • Flexible schedule

    Qualifications

    • 1–3 years software engineering experience (or strong portfolio)
    • 6–12 months experience working with LLM APIs or relevant projects
    • Strong Python skills
    • Familiarity with prompt engineering and basic RAG preferred

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in chatbot development
    • Support prompt engineering and testing
    • Help build and test RAG pipelines
    • Contribute to documentation
    • Collaborate with senior engineers

    2. Could you commit to a minimum of 6-12 months period for this volunteer position?

    4. Could you commit to attending at least two meetings per month with a designated H4TW member?
