    Description

Dovetail Learning, a 501c3 nonprofit providing training to adults who work with children to enhance resilience, communication, conflict resolution, and emotional well-being skills. Our work has supported thousands of educators, healthcare providers, caregivers, and leaders across the United States and beyond.

    About the Volunteer Role

Dovetail Learning is looking for a skilled volunteer to lead a web project to finalize design and code a 3 page Wordpress subdomain of our main website to support their new training offerings for the workplace. This is a project-specific role that likely can be completed in one month or less on a part-time basis.

Our goal is to create an intuitive, mobile-friendly, and search-optimized website so community members, clients, donors, and partners can more easily find information about our new workplace training programs.

This is a great opportunity for:

    • A web professional willing to donate a discrete set of time to a mission-driven nonprofit organization
    • An experienced designer or developer launching a new business and looking to build their portfolio
    • A WordPress savvy creative who enjoys supporting a positive mission that helps build resilience

    What You’ll Help With

Depending on your skills and interests, support may include:

    • Reviewing and improving website architecture and navigation
    • Refreshing visual design for clarity, accessibility, and brand alignment
    • Improving site design
    • Improving mobile responsiveness and user experience
    • Refining SEO to help clients and supporters find us more easily
    • Offering strategic guidance on best practices for nonprofit websites

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

We don’t expect one person to have everything—we’re happy to talk with candidates who bring some of these skills and are excited to learn or collaborate on the rest:

    • Experience designing webpages on Wordpress
    • Knowledge of website architecture and user experience (UX)
    • Intermediate SEO knowledge
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
    • Interest in social impact, nonprofits, or community-based work

    What You’ll Gain

    • The chance to make a tangible impact for a community-centered nonprofit
    • A portfolio-worthy project (we’re happy to provide references or testimonials)
    • Flexible schedule and remote collaboration
    • A deeper connection to a mission-driven organization using business as a force for good

    How to Get Involved

If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out with a brief introduction, a link to your portfolio or examples of past work (if available), and what excites you about this opportunity.
