    Description

    Volunteer Weather Coordinator

Quad County Weather is looking for a few dedicated volunteers to join the team and help keep our communities informed and weather-aware. This is a 100% volunteer, unpaid opportunity for people who care about local weather and want to serve neighbors across Putnam, Schuyler, Scotland, Clark, Adair, Knox, and Lewis counties in Missouri, as well as Appanoose, Davis, Van Buren, Lee, and surrounding counties in Iowa.

To be considered, you must be willing to complete a storm spotter education class, live within one of the counties covered, be available to help monitor during severe weather as long as it is safe to do so, be able to devote a minimum of 10 hours per week, have basic knowledge of social media, and understand the basics of reading radar imagery. Preference will be given to those with some emergency services background, who work well under pressure during intense situations, and who are comfortable posting updates on a regular basis.

If you are passionate about weather, public safety, and community service and want to help keep our area informed during impactful weather, please reach out to Quad County Weather on the Facebook page at facebook.com/quadcountyweather or email the page at justin@quadcountyweather.com
