Do you love being outdoors? Enjoy working with your hands? Come join our Field Crew and help care for the grounds of our horse ranch!
Nestled in the idyllic rolling hills of West Marin, our team of highly trained staff, volunteers, and sweet therapy horses lead folks with disabilites of all ages on trail rides and through arena exercises as they work to build strength, confidence, and emotional connection. Tuesday through Saturday, our riders experience the joy of the human-animal connection in a safe and joyous environment that celebrates them.
Our Field Crew is almost entirely volunteer run, so our professional volunteer team is the key to our success! On the Field Crew, you'll get to help with a variety of tasks including pasture clean up, stall clean up, trail maintenance, watering and feeding horses, water trough maintenance, garden maintenance, and more! We'll adjust your tasks to your level of comfort and meet you where you are. If you are especially handy, you'll have commensurate tasks to tackle. If you're brand new and want to learn, we'd love to teach you.
Consistency, kindness, and physical hardiness are musts. If you love to garden, enjoy working a few hours at a time in your yard, and you like the idea of being around therapy horses, you'll be well prepared to start your volunteer journey. You may be subject to some heat and cold depending on the time of the year, but generally our weather is quite mild. No facilities/gardening experience is required. We'll teach you what you need to know!
