Fundraising Officer

Civil Air Patrol Oak Ridge Composite Squadron is seeking a volunteer to assist our chapter as a fundraising coordinator. Oak Ridge Composite serves the local community through three main missions; Cadet Programs, Aerospace Education, and Emergency Services. Because Civil Air Patrol is an all-volunteer and non-profit organization we must raise our own funding to support the services we offer to the public. This is where a new Fundraising Officer comes into the picture. We need help to create a steady stream of funds to carry out the amazing programs we have for community service, emergency service, aerospace education, and youth leadership development.

A successful Fundraising Officer will:

• Create an annual plan to achieve unit fundraising goals;
• Write and submit fundraising proposals to our State-level administrators;
• Form and maintain professional relationships with recurring donors;
• Plan, organize, and lead fundraising activities in accordance with State law and National CAP policies;
• Draft progress reports for the Finance Officer and finance committee;
• Advise the unit commander on fundraising best practices;
• Use Civil Air Patrol’s extensive professional education and training programs to learn new skills and practices.

Prior experience as a fundraising coordinator is welcome, but not required. Civil Air Patrol can offer training for those that want to learn and hone new career skills. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and need to commit to at least one (1) year as a volunteer. The volunteer decides how much time they wish to donate. Wear of a uniform is occasionally required. Membership application fees apply.
