    Description

Do you enjoy watching presentations and giving thoughtful feedback that helps people grow?

Join us as a Presentation Evaluator Volunteer and play a key role in preparing our clients for real-world professional settings. At Maryland New Directions (MND), our clients participate in team-based projects that build confidence, communication, and collaboration skills. Your feedback helps bring it all together.

    What You'll Do

    • Observe team presentations and evaluate overall performance using a structured evaluation guide
    • Assess whether teams gathered and presented all required information for their project phase
    • Provide feedback on professionalism, including attire and overall presentation presence
    • Evaluate delivery—were presenters prepared, organized, engaging, and enthusiastic?
    • Look for teamwork—did each team member contribute meaningfully to the presentation?
    • Review presentation materials—were the slides clear, engaging, and impactful?
    • Assess communication skills—voice projection, eye contact, and audience engagement
    • Note presentation habits—did presenters rely too heavily on slides or read directly instead of engaging?
    • Evaluate ownership of content—did the team present confidently as if they represented the company, using language like "we" and "our"?
    • Deliver collective feedback to the group, highlighting strengths and offering constructive tips for improvement in the next phase.

What Makes You a Great Fit

    • You enjoy public speaking, presentations, or professional development
    • You can provide balanced, constructive feedback in a supportive and encouraging way
    • You have strong listening and observation skills
    • You're comfortable speaking in front of a group to share feedback
    • You value professionalism and can recognize what makes a presentation effective

    When You'll Volunteer

    • Opportunities vary based on program schedules
    • Most sessions take place on weekdays during business hours
    • Time commitment is typically 2 hours per session.

    Why It Matters

Strong presentation skills can open doors. Your feedback helps clients refine how they communicate, show up with confidence, and present themselves as capable professionals in interviews and on the job.

If you're ready to help shape confident, polished presenters, we'd love to have you in the room.
