Volunteer Opportunity: Friendly Companion Visitor (In‑Person)

(Adult Family Home setting)

We are seeking a compassionate and patient volunteer to provide one‑to‑one companionship to an older adult living in Everett. This role is well‑suited for someone who enjoys gentle social interaction and helping others feel connected and supported.

About the Participant

• • Alert and oriented, with early‑onset Alzheimer’s dementia
  • Experiences mood changes and symptoms of PTSD and depression
  • Enjoys:
  • Spending time outdoors
  • Playing bingo
  • Socializing and engaging with others
  • Benefits from calm, friendly conversation and consistent companionship

Volunteer Role

• • Provide in‑person companionship and social interaction
  • Participate in light activities such as conversation, bingo, or sitting outside
  • Offer a steady, reassuring presence that supports emotional well‑being
  • Visits can be flexibly scheduled (weekly or bi‑weekly preferred)

Volunteer Preferences

• • Patient, kind, and dependable
  • Comfortable supporting someone with memory loss and mood changes
  • No gender preference
  • Experience with older adults is helpful but not required
