    Description

Admin - Volunteers have a meaningful impact on our offices by bringing their dedication and compassion to our special events and projects, helping with mailings, and providing other clerical support. At Three Oaks Hospice, our volunteers support our bereavement program and participate in special events that advance the mission of Three Oaks Hospice.

    Patient Companionship Volunteer:

In providing companionship and emotional support, we engage with patients in both home and facility settings, ensuring they feel cared for and valued. We also recognize the importance of caregivers’ well-being; therefore, we offer them respite time, allowing for a much-needed break to recharge. Our regular visits with patients create warmth and connection, as we sit with them to provide comfort and, in turn, relieve some of the emotional burden from their families. Hospice Volunteers often assist with light housekeeping tasks, yard work, and animal care, making sure that both the patient and their surroundings are as comfortable as possible. In all our interactions, we aim to be patient, kind, and reliable, making sure every person feels respected and understood.

    Community Awareness Ambassador

Word-of-mouth is a crucial way people learn about our care and mission. You can volunteer to serve as an ambassador for Three Oaks Hospice by sharing our story at community events like health fairs. You can also assist us in raising awareness of the resources Three Oaks Hospice offers to our community.

Bereavement program support. Volunteers may collaborate directly with the hospice’s bereavement support team. Their tasks could include handling mailings or phone calls to families.

    Phone Support:

Provide friendly check-ins to patients and caregivers by making weekly calls to verify medication and supply needs before weekends. This opportunity helps prevent crises and ensures continuity of care while offering a friendly, reassuring voice to patients and families.
