    Description

    A Volunteer/Student Services Coordinator is a good combined volunteer role for a school operating with limited or no funding.

    Volunteer/Student Services Coordinator — Volunteer Position

    Position Type: Volunteer / Unpaid

    Reports To: School Director

    Location: Remote or School-Based

    Hours: Flexible

    Position Summary:

    The Volunteer/Student Services Coordinator supports student and family services while coordinating the school's volunteer team. This person helps ensure students receive appropriate assistance and that volunteers are recruited, organized, and supported.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding of school volunteers.
    • Maintain volunteer schedules and assignments.
    • Communicate with volunteers about school activities and needs.
    • Assist with student enrollment and orientation.
    • Serve as a point of contact for students and parents/guardians.
    • Help identify student needs and connect families with appropriate resources.
    • Maintain accurate student and volunteer records.
    • Assist with school events, orientations, and activities.
    • Support student attendance and engagement initiatives.
    • Work with teachers and administrators to address student-support needs.
    • Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
    • Prepare reports for the School Director when requested.
    • Help create a welcoming and supportive school environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organization and time-management skills.
    • Experience working with students, families, volunteers, schools, or nonprofits preferred.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Dependable and professional.
    • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

    Volunteer Commitment:

    This is an unpaid volunteer position. The coordinator does not receive salary or employment benefits unless the position is subsequently converted to a paid position.

    Ideal Candidate:

    Someone who enjoys helping students and families, organizing people, and building a strong volunteer community.
