    Description

PET THERAPY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR HOSPICE - SCHERTZ TEXAS

Make a real different in someone’s life!

Elara Caring, one of the nation’s largest providers of home-based care, is looking for

compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to

local hospice patients and their families.

Elara Caring Hospice is looking for Pet Therapy volunteers (handlers with dogs only). A visit

from a therapy dog can be so beneficial. Terminally ill patients enjoy the extra attention and

unconditional love they feel from a four-legged companion. In order to volunteer and visit

patients, you must have you own dog who is already certified.

    • Share your furry 4-legged friend!
    • Chat about all things PETS
    • And providing emotional support for a patient as they navigate hospice care with you and your PET!

Hours are very flexible! You can choose from weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Typically, we ask you to donate an hour of your time once a week.

The onboarding process includes a background check, and TB test to maintain compliance with the TEXAS Department of Public Health.

For any questions, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator Misty Alva 210-325-1451
