    Description

    Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (ARCK) is a 501 c 3 nonprofit seeking a Development & Event Planning volunteer. ARCK partners with the Boston Public Schools, working with students in grades K-8. Our visual arts-based curriculum aligns with academic content and learning themes specific to our partner schools and classrooms as well as the Common Core Curriculum and National Visual Art Standards. ARCK empowers students to become innovators and creative thinkers by integrating art and design with literacy and STEM education.

    ARCK is looking for… Development & Event Planning Volunteers

    Development & Event Planning Volunteers will assist with projects and responsibilities including:

    • Provide support for the planning and execution of special events such as ARCK’s Annual Auction Benefit Gala in October, fundraisers, and school/community fairs
    • Communicate with event sponsors, donors, and attendees to relay necessary updates and information
    • Research grant and corporate sponsorship opportunities
    • Support grant writing efforts with arts education research, draft writing, and editing
    • Facilitate various administrative duties as well as assist with occasional evening and weekend events

    Qualifications:

    Applicant should be a current or recent undergraduate/graduate student with experience in administrative duties and fluency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive. Candidate should work well independently, multitask, and be able to meet multiple deadlines on time. Experience in event planning, community outreach, and/or volunteer management is a plus. Applicants should be team players, organized, and responsible. The ideal applicant will be genuinely passionate about ARCK’s mission and excited to work with a small arts education nonprofit as it expands and grows!

    This unpaid volunteer opportunity will begin in August or September and last through Fall 2019. It will require 10-20 hours a week, with flexibility around class schedules.

    *ARCK is willing to fill out any paperwork, evaluations or onsite meetings in order for students to receive academic credit for their internship.
