    Litter Cleanup and Making Earth Cool Parade

    Join SOLVE on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 for a litter cleanup in the Sunnyside neighborhood as part of a vibrant, fun-filled celebration of our planet. This free, community-driven event invites people of all ages to come together in honor of Earth, promote environmental awareness, and celebrate the joy of living sustainably. Come to clean up litter and stay to enjoy food, music, a parade, costume contest, and more!

    Event Schedule

    11:00 AM – Kick off the day in the Sunnyside Schoolyard with a variety of exciting activities for all ages. Grab litter cleanup supplies from the SOLVE table and get started at your own pace before the parade.

    1 PM – Earth Parade along a one-mile route through the Sunnyside Neighborhood.

    2 PM - Costume Contest and Dance Party

    Earth Day 2026 is an event presented by Making Earth Cool, Sunnyside Environmental School, 350PDX and SOLVE.

    Meeting Location: We will be meeting in the paved lot of Sunnyside Environmental School.

    What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.

    What's Provided: Litter grabbers, gloves, buckets, and trash bags will be provided. Please BYO reusable water bottle to stay hydrated! Water refill station available on-site.

    Restrooms: Porta-potties and a hand-washing station will be available on-site.

    Parking: Street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood. Biking or taking public transit is highly encouraged.

    Transit: Take Trimet #15 to SE Belmont & 34th, Trimet #14 to SE Hawthorne & 34th, or Trimet #75 to SE Cesar Chavez Blvd & Taylor.

    Accessibility: This area is accessible for folks with mobility concerns.

    Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
