    Description

About the Role The FACTS Initiative is seeking a strategic leader with broad business knowledge to join our Board of Directors as the Internal Operations Officer (IOO).

Please note: While we operate with a working board due to our organization’s size, this is strictly an advisory and governance role, not an operational staff position. You will not be expected to execute daily operational tasks or directly manage staff. Instead, you will offer high-level guidance, review policies, and provide strategic recommendations to ensure professional oversight and informed decision-making.

The IOO is a foundational leadership role, essential during our organization’s early years of development. By advising and supporting our executive team in business operations, you will play a key role in building organizational roots and fostering sustainable growth.

What You Will Do (Governance & Oversight)

    • Operational Oversight: Monitor and assess agency program outcomes to ensure high-quality services. Advise on operational efficiency, program evaluation, and strategies to eliminate wastage.
    • Strategic Business Growth: Provide guidance on business growth strategies and initiatives. Ensure the agency is actively setting and executing organizational goals, and oversee stakeholder agreements to ensure alignment with our priorities.
    • Policy & Alignment: Advise on policies and guidelines related to agency programs, ensuring all current and potential initiatives align perfectly with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
    • Executive Support: Oversee the framework for agency staff training programs to enhance overall effectiveness, and advise layman executives on business operations and best practices.
    • Evaluation & Reporting: Conduct high-level evaluations of agency programs and communicate key observations and strategic recommendations back to the Board of Directors.

    Who We Are Looking For

    • Experienced, strategic leaders with a strong background in business administration, operations management, or organizational development.
    • Strong problem-solvers capable of assessing operational efficiency and guiding sustainable growth.
    • Excellent communicators who can translate business management best practices into actionable insights for a nonprofit organization.
    • Individuals passionate about helping a mission-driven organization build strong roots and maximize its impact.

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 2 hours per week.
    • Attendance and active participation in quarterly board meetings.
    • Occasional additional time as needed to participate in strategic discussions during key organizational initiatives.

Why Join Us? The Internal Operations Officer is critical to ensuring The FACTS Initiative runs efficiently, effectively, and stays true to its mission. Your business acumen will directly shape our capacity to grow sustainably and provide high-quality, trauma-informed care to the vulnerable children and families we serve.
