    Description

    Grant Writer & Funding Development Specialist (Nonprofit – Community Impact)

    We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer and Funding Development Specialist to identify, pursue, and secure funding opportunities at the New York City, New York State, and Federal levels in support of our 501(c)(3) mission focused on community engagement and improvement.

    This role will lead grant research, proposal development, and application management to expand and sustain our programs and services.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Research and identify relevant funding opportunities from NYC, NYS, and federal agencies
    • Monitor public, foundation, and government grant programs
    • Develop, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals and applications
    • Collaborate with leadership to align funding requests with program goals
    • Prepare budgets, narratives, and supporting documentation
    • Manage grant calendars, deadlines, and reporting requirements
    • Track compliance and post-award reporting obligations

    Required Qualifications:

    • Proven experience securing grants for nonprofit organizations
    • Strong knowledge of municipal, state, and federal funding processes
    • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills
    • Experience working with 501(c)(3) organizations
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
    • Strong organizational and communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with community development, civic engagement, or social services funding
    • Familiarity with Grants.gov, NYS Grants Gateway, and NYC funding portals
    • Track record of successful government grant awards

    This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about strengthening communities through strategic funding and resource development.
