Description
Short and Long-Term Foster Volunteers Desperately Needed!
Provide a Safe and Loving Environment: Create a nurturing, safe, and quiet home environment for cats in foster care, ensuring they feel secure and comfortable
Basic Care: Feed, groom, and clean up after the foster cats, maintaining a regular feeding schedule and ensuring they have clean water and litter at all times
Monitor Health and Behavior: Observe and report any changes in the cat’s health or behavior to the rescue, ensuring any potential issues are addressed promptly
Socialization and Enrichment: Spend time interacting with the cats, providing them with socialization opportunities, playtime, and enrichment activities to help them adjust to a home environment
Administer Medications: If needed, administer prescribed medications to foster cats, following the instructions provided by the rescue and rescue's vet
Attend Vet Appointments: Coordinate with the rescue transport team or personally take foster cats to scheduled veterinary appointments as needed
Prepare Cats for Adoption: Help foster cats adjust to living in a home environment and provide information for potential adopters about the cat’s personality, habits, and needs
Communication with Shelter: Maintain regular communication with the rescue to update them on the cat’s progress, and report any concerns or special needs
Participate in Adoption Events: When possible, bring foster cats to adoption events to help find them permanent homes
