    Description

    BluShues Inc. is a nonprofit organization and ministry dedicated to distributing free Bibles and fostering a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our mission is to make the Word of God accessible to everyone, both locally and internationally. We believe in the transformative power of education, literacy, and volunteers who share our passion for spreading the message of hope, faith, and knowledge.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in implementing literacy programmes and initiatives for children, youth, and adults.
    • Support the delivery of literacy activities designed to improve reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills.
    • Research literacy needs, educational resources, and best practices to support programme development.
    • Assist in developing literacy programme materials, lesson plans, reading activities, and educational resources.
    • Coordinate with volunteers, educators, community partners, and other stakeholders involved in literacy activities.
    • Support the recruitment, orientation, and coordination of volunteers assisting with literacy programmes.
    • Assist with literacy events, workshops, reading sessions, educational campaigns, and community outreach activities.
    • Maintain accurate records of programme participants, activities, attendance, resources, and outcomes.
    • Monitor programme progress and gather feedback from participants, volunteers, and programme partners.
    • Assist with preparing reports on programme activities, achievements, challenges, and impact.
    • Support the identification of opportunities for improving and expanding literacy programmes.
    • Maintain an organised calendar of programme activities, meetings, training sessions, and reporting deadlines.
    • Provide administrative and coordination support to the literacy programme team.

    • Passionate about literacy, education, community development, and BluShues' mission.
    • Strong research, communication, organisational, and information-gathering skills.
    • Able to coordinate assigned activities, volunteers, and deadlines effectively.
    • Proactive, dependable, willing to learn, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Demonstrates patience, creativity, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
    • Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
    • Committed to continuous learning and improving literacy programme delivery.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • Bachelor's degree/College Diploma in Education, Literacy Studies, English, Communications, Community Development, Social Sciences, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred but not required.
    • Experience in literacy, education, community programmes, youth development, volunteer coordination, or nonprofit work preferred but not required.
    • Basic knowledge of literacy development or community-based learning is an advantage.
    • Strong research, writing, documentation, and organisational skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
    • Familiarity with Google Workspace, project management tools, databases, or programme management systems is a plus.
    • Strong coordination, interpersonal, and time management skills.
