BLAQ LINQ is seeking a Volunteer Graphic Artist to support our website and social media presence through intentional, mission-aligned design. Our mission is to empower and elevate underserved ethnic groups of color—regardless of how someone may identify—through our four pillars: social enterprise; digital media and creative arts; education and personal development; and health and wellness.
This role is ideal for a creative professional who wants to use visual storytelling to amplify community-centered programs, elevate underrepresented voices, and contribute to meaningful social impact.
Key Responsibilities
As a Volunteer Graphic Artist, you will:
- Design compelling social media graphics to promote programs, workshops, and community events aligned with BLAQ LINQ’s four pillars.
- Create and update website graphics, including banners, program visuals, and digital assets.
- Support visual storytelling rooted in creative arts, education, wellness, and social enterprise.
- Maintain brand consistency and accessibility across digital platforms.
- Collaborate with the BLAQ LINQ team to translate program goals into visually engaging content.
- Assist with promotional campaigns that empower and uplift underserved communities.
Qualifications & Skills
Ideal candidates:
- Have experience designing graphics for websites and social media.
- Are proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma, or similar tools.
- Understand social media formats, digital best practices, and accessibility considerations.
- Possess strong visual design, typography, and layout skills.
- Are reliable, collaborative, and able to meet deadlines.
- Are aligned with BLAQ LINQ’s mission of equity, empowerment, and community wellness.
Preferred (not required):
- Experience with nonprofit or community-based organizations.
- Familiarity with platforms such as WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix.
- Interest in branding, digital media, or culturally responsive design.
Time Commitment & Location
- Commitment: Flexible; project-based or ongoing (approximately 3–5 hours per week).
- Schedule: Flexible and coordinated with the team.
- Location: Remote; limited in-person opportunities may be available in Dallas, TX.
- Duration: Ongoing or short-term, depending on availability.
