Description
About this role
This is AGL's internal engine role. The Operations and Programs Coordinator keeps everything moving, from event logistics to participant follow-up to outcome documentation. You work directly with the Chief Program Officer to strengthen every grant application and partnership conversation.
What you will do
- Support the logistics of AGL's programs, the Great Identity and Reconnection Campus Tour and Community DNA Pop-Up Events, and AGL Genetic Counselor & Genealogists.
- Communicate with event venues, co-host organizations, and participants before and after events.
- Manage RSVPs, sign-in sheets, and participant data for all programs.
- Document every event with photos, participant counts, and testimonials.
- Maintain AGL's program calendar and send weekly reminders to relevant team members.
- Support the 50-Day DNA Health and Wellness Challenge by managing participant communications and tracking completion.
- Prepare program summary reports for grant applications.
- Track weekly team deliverables and flag anything at risk of falling behind to the Chief Program Officer.
What we are looking for
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in event coordination, program management, or nonprofit operations
- Comfortable with Google Workspace tools — Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Calendar
- Dallas-based preferred, but remote candidates with strong communication skills will be considered.
- Passionate about African heritage, diaspora reconnection, or community health
- Proactive — you follow up without being asked and flag problems before they become crises.
